Myburgh’s Waterfall Ravine

The Afromontane forest canopy of this trail makes for an incredible hike to a perennial waterfall and offers majestic 360-degree views from the peak above. Situated in Houtbay, this breathtaking trail up a kloof will ensure for an adventurous day on the mountain as it includes quite a few scrambles over mossy rocks and boulders. Expect an ever-changing landscape as you hike through the forest onto a plateau covered in tall grass and indigenous Fynbos. At certain times of the year you are treated to red Disas in full bloom.

Elevation gain: 780m
Difficulty: Intermediate – hiking up steep terrain, some mild exposure in areas, requires some scrambling (using your hands and feet) over rocks and boulders. Descending down Llandudno Ravine there are a few staples in the rocks to assist.
